On November 9, 2023, Filipino World Travelers Co-leader Luisa Yu arrived in Belgrade, achieving a remarkable milestone by visiting her 193rd United Nations country. This momentous occasion marked the completion of her journey to every country in the world, a feat accomplished over an impressive span of 50 years of world travel, making her the oldest Filipino to do so. Upon her arrival at the airport, Luisa was warmly greeted by FWT Founder Dondon Bales and two other international traveler friends, who celebrated her extraordinary accomplishment with her.
Luisa’s achievement quickly made her an overnight celebrity in Serbia, winning the hearts of the nation. Her story was featured extensively in the media, with interviews on television, radio, and in newspapers across the country. She was spotlighted on prominent platforms such as PRVA TV, Blic, RTS, Mondo, Novi Dan, TV N1, Nova S TV, Informer TV, and RTV regional TV in Novi Sad.
Her visit to Serbia reached a high point when she was invited to give an inspirational talk to the students at the College of Tourism in Belgrade. With over 100 people in attendance, Luisa shared her experiences, challenges, and the joy of her incredible journey, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
