FWT Launches Travel Photo Contest

On July 1, 2024, Filipino World Travelers launched the Travel Photo Contest, inviting participation from its Members and Affiliates. The contest aims to engage the membership in showcasing the beauty and diversity of our planet, fostering an appreciation for different cultures, and promoting the values of responsible travel, thereby using travel as a force for good.

Entries can be submitted throughout the month of July. In August, the broader network of Filipino World Travelers – including members, affiliates, allies, and supporters – will vote to shortlist the Top 25 highest-rated photos. From this shortlist, a panel of judges composed of renowned photographers Ed Hotchkiss and George Tapan will select the Top 12 winners for the 2025 FWT Calendar and the Best Photo.

Ed Hotckiss, based in New York City, has visited over 100 countries and is the author of the photo book “Station to Station: Exploring the New York City Subway.” George Tapan, one of the Philippines' most celebrated travel photographers whose photos are featured in the book “Philippines: Islands of Enchantment”, has won prestigious awards such as two Pacific Asia Tourism Association (PATA) Gold awards, an ASEAN Tourism Association award, and a 2011 National Geographic Photography contest.

The winners will be announced on October 1, 2024, coinciding with the release of the 2025 FWT Calendar and other merchandise available for sale online.
